Ozawa Sake Brewery, brewer of the sake "Sawanoi," was founded in 1702 in Sawai Village, Bushu, along the highway connecting Edo and Koshu. For over 300 years since then, it has been a beloved local sake in Okutama, Tokyo. The name of the sake, "Sawanoi," comes from the place name "Sawai Village," which was given to the area because of the abundant water flowing like a stream. Okutama's famous water, selected raw rice, and refined techniques are all brought together to create every drop of exquisite sake.
